Now trending: Inter-caste marriages!

Saturday, September 6, 2014

Author: Iram Siddique

"Masha Allah! That's a rewardable act beta!" he said to his neighbour's son when he got the news of him marrying a non-Muslim girl after reverting her to Islam. Little do people know that he objected his own son's wish of marrying a Muslim girl because she was not from his khandan (family). Well, this is an example of both, a form of hypocrisy still prevailing in large sections of our Muslim society and of an emerging trend being followed by young Muslims largely of marrying non-Muslims, and their families either taking pride in it or boycotting them both in the wrong sense.

Islam allows marrying chaste women of the books (Jews & Christians). But in a time where chastity is a rarity in the Muslim world itself, to look for it outside is really foolish. And I am pretty sure that majority of those who commit such an act would have not even bothered to check the religious ruling on it and they have only helped in increasing the number of single Muslim women over the years. The non-Muslim’s cultural influence, liberal, modern Muslims peer group, the non-Muslim social circle, lack of Islamic knowledge, are some of the most common factors enhancing this new trend in the Muslim world. There are two types of reverts, one who embrace Islam out of free will, Allah guides them and the other who enter Islam just because they fall for a Muslim person who puts to them the only choice of becoming a Muslim in order to get married to them irrespective of whether they do it from their heart or just for the heck of it. Unfortunately, according to me, the latter is a more common reason bringing new Muslims to Islam in our Hindu majority nation, India.

Talking from my experience and observation about the latter ones, they either turn out to be the best of Muslims or a great Fitna!

Case 1:
I know someone who is also a dear friend to me and like an elder sister to me who embraced Islam because her husband is a Muslim. She is one of those very few who reverted from her heart, praying five times and performing other religious obligations consistently has made her an example in our neighbourhood to follow, Masha Allah! But as Allah tests each one of us, her test started with her own husband, who was the medium in getting her into Islam and who sadly became also the medium of her tests. He gradually started with depriving her even of her basic rights which she had over him, to the extent of threatening her with a divorce just for the sake of his parents who were not happy at all with his decision of marrying not only a Hindu but also someone who has not brought anything in marriage (dowry). They regularly humiliated, oppressed her, and were not as welcoming as the gentleman mentioned above, just because she was a Hindu who affected their family's dignity, their honor, who trapped their innocent son, who eventually let their heads down in their family. Their fear would have been still justified had she not followed our religion well, had she been a disobedient wife or an immodest woman, had they been good Muslims themselves who feared hypocrisy from her that may affect the environment at home and the upbringing of their future generation. The husband, who seemed to be a practicing Muslim to her, eventually revealed his true face which she didn't identified earlier.

How can a "good" Muslim guy/girl fall for a non-Muslim girl/guy? It is absolutely indigestible, insensible and will only make sense to those who don't know Islam properly.

Talking about this woman's in-laws, they deprived her of even the basic rights. They treated her almost like an untouchable, to an extent that she was left to suffer alone for months at a government hospital when she was expecting her first baby and had serious complications, with no one ever checking on her except for her husband who used to come just like the nurses did, out of formality. They have no compassion, no care towards the patient, just an obligation! Her Imaan was tested to the extreme level yet she never regretted the decision of becoming a Muslim. When I used to visit her during that time, my only motive was to help her in difficulty and keep her dying hope alive. I gave her audios of the Tafseer of Surah Maryam, read out to her inspirational Islamic stories, about patience and forbearance in Islam. I used to tell her that this is a test from the Lord to only bring her closer to Him. Anyhow I didn't wanted her Imaan to drop to the level where she regrets her decision of becoming a Muslim because she expressed it many times - out of the trauma and depression - how much she was regretting of abandoning her family and community for someone who she loved more than them. Believe me, they started questioning her decision of embracing Islam, this is the height of oppression. For me this is one of the gravest mistakes or sins that a born Muslim can commit. But these tests only made her stronger. She emerged out of it with a stronger Imaan, stronger belief in her Qadr, Alhamdulillah! Not everyone has that level of Imaan to realize the betterment behind the tests and trials of life. Not everyone has that ability to look beyond life, putting their trust in Allah SWT alone. "Verily, Allah sends astray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills." [Faatir, 35:8]

Case 2:
According to me this kind of new Muslims are many. I'm talking about those who enter Islam and remain in it only for the one who brought them into, and not for the One who gave them this golden chance – i.e. Allah! A cousin of my sister’s friend got married to a Jain-Gujarati girl who initially performed few basic obligations to show off to everyone around especially her husband that she is now a Muslim. Now her husband and in-laws luckily (for her) belonged to the liberal, modern Muslim category. So there were no religious restrictions as such and this only encouraged her to disobey Allah more. So she is not only to be blamed entirely for this as her in laws themselves failed to practice the religion on a better scale. Nothing changed much for this girl except her name on her Nikah-naama (marriage certificate), government documents, and social media. She does not only enjoy the freedom to keep her old name and nicknames related to it but also an absolute liberty to post pictures of her partying and clubbing in immodest dressing! And her oh-so-loving-husband doesn't mind because he is still rejoicing the ‘fact’ that she changed her religion for him!

I learnt from both the cases that the prohibited act of marrying a non-Muslim can be changed into a rewardable act if the Muslims strive to invite such people to Islam only in the manners prescribed by the Shari'ah. We should strive to project the true picture of Islam through our own actions and behavior. We should give them their due rights and treat them with hospitality. Our attitude can lead the new-comer into a blessing or a fitnah.

Tahajjud: The strength of a believer

Monday, May 27, 2013

Pin drop silence lingers all around. Hustle and bustle has faded out. In the tranquility of twilight, all have curled up under their blankets, slipped into deep sleep.

Getting quietly out of his cozy blanket, a believer makes ablution and silently, engrosses himself into a conversation with his Lord. Sun is still down, may be hours left to rise. Under the veil of night, he is immersed in prayers, long prostration, murmurings of sincere penitence… he opens up to his Merciful Lord. Imagine how delighted that heart would be at the dawn, seeing his new daybreak as a purified soul!

Naive Islam - Tahajjud
Tahajjud (long prayer in night) is a highly favored tradition of the Prophet (peace be upon him). It’s the golden opportunity to strengthen one’s faith, to meditate down your mind, and to expunge your sins. The supplications and the Qur’an we recite during Tahajjud help us keep our faith and piety un-perforated, grow roots of belief deeper and stand strong.

Prophet (peace be upon him) used to recommend Tahajjud highly. He used to elaborate on its benefits in the life here and hereafter. In early periods of prophethood, Tahajjud was given prime importance. “And during a part of the night, pray Tahajjud beyond what is incumbent on you; maybe your Lord will raise you to a position of great glory” (Qur’an 17:79). This and many Qur’anic verses were instructions to the Prophet (peace be upon him) regarding Tahajjud.

Nothing beats Tahajjud when it comes to inner strength to a believer. The power and potential it provides is unimaginable and ineffable. Qur’an says that waking up from sleep in the midst of night helps to attain self-control and to better recite Qur’an.

Look at this hadeeth from our Prophet (peace be upon him): “Be vigilant in standing up [in prayer] at night for it was the practice of the pious before you. It is a means of gaining proximity to Allah Ta’ala, an expiation for transgressions and a barrier from sins.” [Tirmidhi].

For a caller to Islam, the moments of Tahajjud are a respite, and a strong rope to hold fast to. During Tahajjud, he gives his words and deeds a retrospect, shares his worries and concerns with Allah, eases the burden on his shoulder.

Only strong willed can wake up at a moment when mind and body refuses to leave cozy cushions of comfort, wandering in the dreamland of desires. In another reporting from Thabraani, Prophet (peace be upon him) says, “If one intents to offer Tahajjud, an Angel approaches him and tells : ‘its time up to wake up’. Pray and remember you Lord’. And the Satan comes and tells him, ‘Night is still young, sleep over for some more time. If you get up now for prayer, your eyes will turn red, you will grow weak, sleeplessness will eat up your vitality’. If this person follows Satan, he sleeps off without praying and the Satan urinates in his ears.”

My dear, for all this while, who were you following?

Islam and Fanatism : What leads some Muslims to fanatism?

Monday, February 18, 2013

Author: Nisar Nadiadwala

One of the finest advice and command that our Messenger , peace be upon him, gave : Haram upon you is the blood and the honour of your Muslim brother. The other hadith declares : Abusing a Muslim is fisk and killing him is kufr. It needs a courageous introspection to realise why our daggers are pulled out when it comes to inner quarrels and why we cant even pursue legal battle when it comes to those who do injustice to us, who burn our houses and rape our women.

Few years back we were praying Asar in a congregation. After the prayers were over a youth spoke bitterly: Ah ! This Imam has spoiled our prayers. How fast he prayed ! The youth insulted the Imam. A few other youth gathered and there was a heated dispute. The imam defended himself loudly " Look here! these jeans and T shirt guys will teach me how to lead prayers?" The dispute ended with an announcement : If you are not comfortable in our Masjid then don't pray here. We will not discuss which sect the boys belonged to and which group the Masjid belonged to. Many masjids of India and Pakistan have such ban on entries of certain sects.

The same year there was a quarrel between two sunni sects in Mumbai which lead to the killing of a youth who had a beard and prayed five times in the Masjid. He was stabbed to death when he stepped out of the Masjid after Magrib prayers. The issue was " whether the moon was really sighted or not!!!!!" That year the rift over moon sighting was so broad that there were families where half the members continued to complete the thirtieth fast and the remaining half celebrated the Eid.

Last month a young man refused to participate in his own father's Salatul Janazah! The reason? My father was not a man of Taqwa!!

What converts belief into a violent emotion that pitches brother against brother and father against son? We cannot discuss all the issues here because I fear a battle may rage beneath my notes and violent comments may be missiled . So I will carefully pick up a few and keep it dilute.

As Religious knowledge becomes easily available there is an emergence of self made muftis who thrive upon the fatawas of the world renounced scholars and who understand exactly opposite to what was mentioned. Many young people are learning deen on their own. By buying library of Islamic books one cannot become a scholar. By merely reading Islamic books one cannot claim to have understood everything on his own . Will you accept the medical credential of a person who says he has become a doctor on his own just by reading medical books? Can you become a lawyer just by learning English language and reading a few books of law? Then how can one assume that he is a lawyer of Deen when he has just read little !

One need to learn and seek explanations from the scholars. Even a man of Dr Zakir's caliber has appointed a team of Madinite scholars who refer to their senior scholars in many issues. The presence of the scholars becomes essential in case one errs. If reading books were enough to make a man comprehend Deen then why did Allah sent messengers? . There were sahaba who were scholars in Arabic language and poetry, but yet they approached the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, to understand the law. And it was obligatory to do so, says the Qur'an in Surah Nisa' verse 59.. O you who believe ! obey Allah and Obey His messenger and those who are an authority amongst you, but if you differ among your selves then refer to Allah and Messenger..the next phrase of the verse is very important;; inkuntum to'minona billahi wa yaumul akheerah..If you have believed in Allah and on the last day. It is a part of the belief that one refers to the Qur'an and the sunnah to solve differences.

But many youth rely on their own understanding or stick to the opinion of a scholar they approve of. They are met with equal resistance from others who dont agree with them. Some "so called scholars" ignite fire. I happened to pass by a fiery speech by a moulana. He was naming the scholars of the other sects as kuffars and hypocrites. The sermon was on mike in the masjid but the echo was felt in the streets and houses and friend circles when two people of different ideologies meet. The fire that are kindled in khutbas explode in the streets.

The correct way of learning deen is not to be a fanatic. But try to do the best as much as you can. The Qur'an reminds in many places..

waquloo linnasa Husna.. "and talk with the people in a beautiful manner" ( Surah al Baqarah) Islam even teaches ethics in differing. It becomes a religious obligation to differ ethically. When ethics in speeches are discarded then hatred occupies the empty space and rules the thinking.

Consider this hadith : If your Muslim brother sins, correct him, pray for him but do not hand him over to shaytan... Many of us give up corrections after a couple of efforts, but never or rarely pray for the guidance of the erring brother. We quickly gun for fatawas and are in a hurry to hand him over to shaytan. This is fanatism..

Are we thankful slaves??

Sunday, March 18, 2012

By Safeera Abdul Lateef

Oftentimes in life, we totally forget the uncountable blessings Allah has granted in each of our lives. We never miss out to complain about the problems in our life, but we always miss out to thank for the blessings we are being granted everyday in life.

Do we ever bother to count the blessings in our life or atleast think about it ?

Don’t we have two eyes with proper eyesight? Think about those blind people who wish to have just one glance of the world.

Don’t we have two ears with proper hearing? Think about those deaf people who wish to hear their own voice to know what it is like.

Think about the blessing of our hands, our feet, our fingers , don’t we use them frequently throughout the day? Think about those who don’t have these blessings.

These are just few blessings which we have in your life. If we start counting our blessings and start thanking Allah, this life wouldn’t be enough for us to do that.

Just imagine, every second we breath in air right? If we keep thanking Allah for each breath of air every second, till our death, then would we have time to thank Him for rest of the blessings? Such are the blessings of Allah, it’s so vast, and still many a times we fail to realize it.

How much ever we thank Allah, it wouldn’t be enough if we compare it to the blessings we have in our life. We can never be fully grateful to Him. But can’t we be grateful to Him as much as we can? Atleast once in a day, can’t we thank Him? That isn’t beyond our capacity right?

So start thanking Allah. If we count the blessings in our life & start thanking Allah, we’ll feel ashamed to ask Him for more, and to complain about the silly problems we have. Whatever you are going to complain to Him about, first think have you done thanking him?

To end up I would like to remind you of the gratefulness of our beloved Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam).

It is narrated by al-Mughira that the Prophet (Peace be upon Him) used to stand (in the salah) or perform salah until both his feet or legs swelled. He was asked why he offered such an unbearable salah. He said, "Should I not be a thankful slave." [Bukhari]

That was a person whose all sins were forgiven by Allah. We sin throughout the day and complain to Allah about our problems. Do we really have the right to do that? Just think for yourself. Do we have as much as problems as the blessings we have? Certainly not! So be a grateful slave. Stop complaining and be thankful that Allah gave you a life to serve Him, to worship Him. Show your gratefulness by living the way he commanded.

10 Tips on how to be a Successful Husband!

Wednesday, January 11, 2012

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

Allah uses amazing parables in the Qur’an that strike fear, awe and amazement in the hearts of the believers. Throughout the Qur’an, Allah draws parables for us to convey the importance of certain topics, to extract lessons from them and so that we may ponder and reflect over them. There is one such parable that Allah puts forth that increases the love and mercy between a husband and wife, and this parable is one of the most eloquent and striking in the Qur’an.

They are your garments and you are their garments. [Al-Qur'an 2:187]

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said- “The best amongst you are the ones who are best to their wives.” So dear Muslim brother! Your obligations towards your wife are not limited to earning money and supporting her financially. A wife needs love from her husband, and emotional support too!

Note: Additions in brackets are notes from a sister.
Prepared by Muhammad Alshareef, reprinted from Islamway.com.

1) Dress Up

Dress up for your wife, look clean and smell good. When was the last time us men went shopping for designer pajamas? Just like the husband wants his wife to look nice for him, she also wants her husband to dress up for her too. Remember that Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him) would always start with Miswak when returning home and always loved the sweetest smells.

(Dress up for your wife when you are at home also. Some brothers only dress up when they go out and that is not a good practice. A husband should dress up for his wife when they are at home. it makes a wife feel special.)

2) Sweet Names

Use the cutest names for your wife. Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him) had nicknames for his wives, ones that they loved. Call your wife by the most beloved names to her, and avoid using names that hurt their feelings.

(Remember, you are your wife’s only boyfriend, and her only best friend. She does not go out seeking boyfriends and she shares a halal relationship with you. Love her unconditionally for the sake of Allah. And express your love to her. A woman likes to be told that she is loved. Call her from your work to make sure she is doing fine. I have seen my dad calling my mother several times a day, just to make sure she has been eating well. These things are very important in a relationship.)

3) Reward Her Actions

Don’t treat her like a fly. We never think about a fly in our daily lives until it ‘bugs’ us. Similarly, a wife will do well all day – which brings no attention from the husband – until she does something to ‘bug’ him. Don’t treat her like this; recognize all the good that she does and focus on that.

(Whenever there is a fight or argument, just remember all the things she does for you. she cooks for you, she takes care of your home, she takes care of your children and the most important thing is that she guards her modesty. So do not upset her if she is upset with you. Hold her and tell her that you love her. Only your love can repel her anger. Communicate with her and discuss with her if there are any misunderstandings.)

4) Remain Silent

If you see wrong from your wife, try being silent and do not comment! This is one of the ways Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him) used when he would see something inappropriate from his wives (May Allah be pleased with them). It’s a technique that few Muslim men have mastered.

(Do not criticize her all the time. Trust her and trust her decisions. If she is doing something that you don’t like, or that goes against the teachings of Islam, then do advice her gently.)

5) Smile! :)

Smile at your wife whenever you see her and embrace her often. Smiling is Sadaqah and your wife is not exempt from the Muslim Ummah. Imagine life with her constantly seeing you smiling. Remember also those Ahadith when Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him) would kiss his wife before leaving for Salah, even if he was fasting.

(Do let your wife know that you are very happy and blessed to have her. A wife always wonder how her husband feels about her. She may have some insecurity about you, so make her feel secure. Always give her a hug whenever you come back from work. appreciate her and thank her for taking care of everything whole day. If you are not too tired, go out for star gazing for an hour or so.)

6) Acknowledge Her

Thank her for all that she does for you. Then thank her again! Take for example a dinner at your house. She makes the food, cleans the home, and a dozen other tasks to prepare. And sometimes the only acknowledgment she receives is that there needed to be more salt in the soup. Don’t let that be; thank her!

(Write thank you notes for her and place those notes in her books, her purse, her socks, and anything else that belongs to her. You can use your own creativity to thank her. This way a couple saves themselves from many fitnahs. You can thank her by writing her letters and emails. Remember, in Islam, everyday is special. So celebrate wife’s day with her, and do it very often without having a particular date. She will always wonder when the wife’s day is going to be.

You can also give her a certificate of appreciation. Do everything by yourself that day and let her rest, this way you will also know how difficult it could be to do household chores. Thank her by building a webpage for her, write a note there and a poem and then ask her to visit your webpage.

Thank her by giving her a gift, and a gift does not have to be expensive. Be creative! You do not have to give her Roses, you can give her a leaf too! So remember, thoughtful and creative gifts makes a wife feel secure and happy. Thank her by ordering a halal pizza for her, ask the restaurant to cut it in a heart shape and have it delivered with a personalized note. Thank her by thanking her in a family gathering. A woman likes it when her husband gives her attention.

If you visit her parents or your parents, hold her hands and tell your parents how happy you are after marriage. Give your wife an Islamic book as a gift after praying Tahajjud. Use your imagination and think about unique gifts. Remember, she does not need a diamond, she needs your sincerity and your heart, so always give her the gifts that are thoughtful. Whenever you do something to make her happy, observe her facial expressions and ask yourself about how you feel when you become her happiness.)

7) Ten Blessings From Allah

Ask her to write down the last ten things you did for her that made her happy. Then go and do them again. It may be hard to recognize what gives your wife pleasure. You don’t have to play a guessing game–ask her and work on repeating those things in your life.

(Also ask her to write down the things you did that she did not like, or the things you did that made her unhappy. Try to not do those things in future. If she falls ill, let her lay down, and read different surahs from Qur’an while placing your hand on her forehead. Remember, a wife needs her husband the most when she is not feeling well. Take good care of her because a healthy wife makes a healthy family. Do not expect too much from her when she is sick.)

8) Validate her Feelings

Don’t belittle her desires. Comfort her. Sometimes the men may look down upon the requests of their wives. Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him) set the example for us in an incident when Safiyyah (May Allah be pleased with her) was crying because, as she said, he had put her on a slow camel. He wiped her tears, comforted her, and brought her the camel.

(If there is a time of sadness, give her your shoulder to cry on. Hold her and tell her that everything will be fine. Remember, a woman does not like to cry alone in a corner. She needs someone to hold her when she is sad, so never let her feel lonely. Remind her the verses from Qur’an that talks about Patience and Piety.)

9) Have Fun!

Be humorous and play games with your wife. Look at how Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him) would race his wife Aisha (May Allah be pleased with her) in the desert. When was the last time we did something like that?

(A sense of humor plays a very important role in a marital relationship. Most women wish to have a husband who has a good sense of humor. Tell her decent and modest jokes that make her happy. A wife appreciates it very much if her husband makes her smile. You can play various games at home.Think of different games you can both play. Let her win sometimes (rather most of the times)! Losing for the one you love is no losing at all!

Adopt interesting hobbies, such as reading, cooking together and gardening (grow a surprise rose plant in your garden, when you have the first rose blooming, take her to the garden and show it to her. Newspaper and Sports Issue! Men like to watch sports, or read newspaper. So be very careful. If you are watching sports, turn the TV off if your wife comes around. Give her attention. Do not spend too much time reading newspaper, and do not read newspaper on the breakfast table, rather have an Islamic discussion.

10) Be The Best

Always remember the words of Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him): “The best of you are those who treat their families the best. And I am the best amongst you to my family.”

Try to be the best! In conclusion: Never forget to make Dua to Allah to make your marriage successful. And Allah knows best!

(And once again: your wife is your best friend, and your girlfriend. Share everything with her. Remember she is your garment and you are her garment, so hide her faults and mistakes. Learn to forgive her. Also communicate a lot with her family. It really makes a difference if husband communicates with his in laws. It helps both husband’s and wife’s family to share a beautiful relationship. Respect her parents and show your love to her family. This will inspire her to love and respect your family. If her family is not muslim, do dawah to them in a beautiful way.)

Spend lots of time praying to Allah swt. Do fast often even if it is not Ramadan. Fasting brings patience and taqwah. Lead her in the prayer. There is nothing better than praying together. Remember Allah, so that Allah remembers you.

May Allah bless us and guide us all.

Ameen!

Indian Muslims, then and now...

Saturday, September 10, 2011

By: Umar Shariff

1. Indian Muslims Today
Today the Muslims in India are known for being businessmen, vendors, mechanics etc etc.... But at the same time, it is an alarming fact that the majority of the Muslims don't go to schools at all. Even if they go to schools, they don't pass their 10th standard too. These are the observations of the Sachar Commission report.

2. In the past, in the times of the British rule, a Muslim passing from a Madrasa used to get government jobs in India. Isn't that amazing! What was the reasons for recruiting Muslims from Madrasas? Madrasas were places to learn knowledge. Qur'an and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam was taught to them . The people passing out from these institutions were having immense knowledge in history, morals and worldly knowledge too. In fact, when we look into the history of the well known Metropolitan city in India, Madras, we come to know that it is believed to have originated from the older name Madarasapattinam, which means The City of Madarasa. It was believed to have got the name, for having had Madarasas there. The britishers shortened the name Madarasapattinam to Madras.
http://www.madras.com/v/history/

3. Muslims during the British rule, issued a fatwa to not learn the language of the British, the English language, as an expression of their love for their country India; and an expression of their hate towards the colonial occupants. The impact of that fatwa is seen amongst the people even today. Many Muslims hate the English language. They hate things that origin from the British soil. Now that's another extreme. Whenever we go to extremes, we would have to face the disturbances in the society.

4. Islam encourages mankind to gain knowledge. Most of us know that Prophet Muhammad, may peace be upon him was an unlettered person, before he was deputed as a Prophet, by the all mighty Allah. When Prophet was alone meditating in the mountain, an angel appeared to him and read the verses of Qur'an, the revelation from God all mighty. The first word of the verse was "IQRA", which means "READ". Allah's first message to mankind, in the last revelation was encouraging mankind to read and gain knowledge.
Ever since the Qur'an was revealed to the people of Arabia, it transformed them from the nomadic bedouins to a community of liberated minds. Great thinkers, historians, rulers, scientists arose from amongst them. Spain was ruled for 800 years by Muslims. India witnessed the Muslims rule parts of India for 800 years. Their contribution in country's administration with well constituted system, paved way for peace and tranquility to the people of all faiths.

5. Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam used to read this supplication after every fajr prayer in the morning. He would say ALLAAHUMMA INNI AS-ALUKA 'ILMAN NAAFI'AA, which means, O ALLAH, give me the knowledge that is beneficial. That's a very important thing to ponder over. There are many kinds of knowledge in the world, which can be broadly classified into two kinds, i.e Constructive knowledge and Destructive knowledge. If one wants to learn atomic energy to use it to produce electricity, then that's a beneficial knowledge. If one wants to learn atomic energy to drop bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, then that's the destructive and evil thing to do. Hence we must always have a right goal to achieve with the knowledge that we gain. Knowledge must be gained to please the Lord of the Universe. And God will be pleased with us, when we use the knowledge for peaceful life in the world. I pray to God that HE guides us all to peace and serenity in this world and the hereafter.

Knowledge without action, is like a car without tyres:-)
